The GTK UI backend now uses native dialogs thanks to the tireless work of Caolán McNamara (Red Hat). Andreas Kainz reworked the layout of many dialogs. Jan-Marek Glogowski (CIB ) fixed a slide tearing issue that affected many users. LibreOffice 6.3.3 was released on October, 31. I cannot provide a conclusion because the variables present on this system might not be present in yours, but I still wanted to let you know what I looked at when trying to solve this issue.
I opened more complex spreadsheets and tried more demanding operations with them, and, fortunately, the issue seems to be gone. It was until I disabled both power saving features ( i915.i915_enable_rc6=1 and i915.i915_enable_fbc=1) that I could work with Calc without problems. I re-enabled it and then disabled the power saving features, one at a time, but the problem kept showing up. The first thing that I tried was disabling the hardware acceleration in Calc, but the system still froze.
